This letter is written by a real person
Hello friend,
Today, you get a little behind-the-scenes look
at the Sunday Letter.
I actually write it on Sunday mornings.
For me, that is part of its magic.
I wake up and ponder in my dark, cozy bedroom,
asking what I want you to know today.
Then I get up and arrange a little writing nest
(in my favorite spot, on the couch in the living room)
with my creamy coffee on one side, and my dog, Kevin, on the other.
Most days, the message comes clear through my fingertips.
But not today.
Today, I got nothin.
So I suppose the thing for you to know
is that I am a Real Person.
Not a machine.
I don't have an On/Off switch.
I don't have a “Create" program I can run.
I don't have an “Inspire” setting.
And also, I don't want to pretend I do.
I won't copy/paste something I wrote some other time
and pass it off as a fresh Sunday Letter.
Because I suspect you'd feel it,
and I know I would.
So
I hope that me honoring my humanness
will help you honor yours.
You and I, we're much more animal than machine.

Let us treat ourselves that waaaaay.
Off to the garden,
