If something needs to change, so does your scenery ⛰️

I've been thinking about this well-worn Einstein quotation:

“You cannot solve a problem from the same mind that created it.”

And I'm wondering if - similarly -

You cannot create What's Next for you when you're busy maintaining your same-old everyday life.

Hmmmm?

Because it's hard to really hear ourselves think when someone's always asking for something.

Because nurturing a little seedling of a new idea requires a different headspace than the one that's remembering to schedule doctor's appointments and deciding what's for dinner.

Because when we're consumed with maintaining all the life/work/relationships/households that our past choices have created, it's hard to access our power to choose differently.

It's a tall order: to reckon with soul-truth, and heed inner wisdom, and imagine possibilities, and begin to create something new.

How could we possibly expect ourselves to do all that in the midst of emails and errands and busyness as usual?

When it's time for a new direction - especially a self-honoring new direction - I deeply believe we need to get away from it all.

We need a spacious, well-curated retreat¹, which has the power to bestow clarity and spark creativity.

On a spacious, well-curated retreat, we have the time, space, and support to reckon with deeply-held truths. And to summon the courage to honor them. Like:

- this relationship needs to change, and I found the self-honoring courage to take the first step

- my work drains me more than it sustains me, and I'm clear on what I want to try next

- my creative self has been buried under all my responsibilities, but she's alive and we're re-connected and I know what she needs to thrive

- I had time to really explore the idea that's been languishing in the back of my mind and it's grown from random sparks to a merry, crackling fire

Solving problems, as Einstein said, requires new thinking.

And creating a whole-self-honoring life, I say, requires reconnection with a whole-self-honoring way of being.

That's what we're doing in Create Space, my springtime retreat to Taos, New Mexico.

We've curated an experience that's a perfect blend of support and spaciousness, cozyness and inspiration, to help you access whole-self-honoring perspective and courageous creativity.

I'll be there to coach you, and to help you hear and honor what's true for you. A whole team will be there to care for your every need. Inspiring, growth-oriented new friends will be there to connect with. And the New Mexican sky and sunshine will be there to remind you that you're sentient stardust, so anything is possible.

Have a look, and if you're interested, hit reply and we can talk more about it . . . including about the choice of early-bird bonuses I'm offering through Valentine's Day.

Meanwhile, play with this idea: self-honoring next steps require self-honoring time and space.

See what happens when you claim self-honoring time and space for yourself, whether it's a random day off or two nights in a nice hotel or a tiny road trip or a long-overdue museum visit/spa day/new coffee shop excursion.

Reclaim your power to see and be differently.

love,

Natalie

¹ Emphasis on “well-curated.” I've also been on jam-packed retreats, cliquish retreats, and mostly-trying-to-sell-you-other-stuff retreats. Those don't spark anything but insecurity.
