The question I'm so glad KBJ answered

The question I ask my clients the very most, by far, is

What Do You Want?

What do you WANT?

What do YOU want?

What DO you want?

It's a potent question,

and when you're willing to answer it, you can do extraordinary things.

It is simple, but let's be honest:

it is not easy.

Not in a culture that is so terrified of the power of our desires,

it shames us for them at every turn.

Not within systems that prefer we want what The Man wants.

Owning our desires is not easy, even for my most famous clients.

These are women whose work you follow and read,

women who appear fully seated in their power,

and/but like our incredible Supreme Court Justice, Ketanji Brown Jackson,

feel the pressure to be even better, even when they're extraordinary.

(Did tears spring to your eyes when she told her daughters,

“I fully admit I did not always

get the balance [of working and mothering] right”

UGH THE UBIQUITY OF MOM GUILT)

*deep breath*

So.

The reason I ask “What do you want?” again and again

is not only to help you connect with your desires.

It's also to reveal all that stands in your way.

Spoiler alert: there's usually p l e n t y.

Plenty of conditioning and social demands.

Plenty of doubt and fear.

Plenty of PRESSURE.

Happily,

the more we practice evading and eviscerating all the obstacles,

the less intimidating you'll find them,

the more fully you'll step into your power,

and the more unapologetically you'll do what you love.

And one woman, seated in her power, doing what she loves?

That - SHE - changes everything.

love,

Natalie
