Waking up on time-change day
Here in (most of) the States, we've just exited Daylight Savings Time.
So for today and maybe tomorrow, the clock will say 7a, but our mind-bodies will feel 8a.
I love these strange little wake-up windows,
as they remind us how very much we CO-CREATE our reality.
We collectively agree what time it is.
(Also clock time itself is a construct, and a dehumanizing one at that.)
We collectively agree what constitutes a “work week.”
(In China, it was becoming “996” before courts shut that shit down.)
(Also, mine is now maaaybe 20 hours long and feels amazing.)
We collectively agree what can cost a lot of money.
(Botox: a lot. Massage: a little. Solar panels: a lot. Petrol: a little.)
We collectively agree what's a good investment,
and that's something I think about all the time, as my clients and I invest in ourselves.
Houses, stocks & bonds, university degrees, health insurance: these are collectively-agreed upon Good Investments.
But household help, travel & experiences, coaching, alternative health therapies: these are collectively-agreed upon Indulgences.
Even though, frankly:
Everything on the Indulgences list is actually what empowers us to be much more powerful and good Co-Creators in this life.
So
please join me in co-creating collective agreement on this:
We are our own best investments.
When we invest in our health, growth, support, and happiness,
when we value humans over properties,
when we support actual people - including ourselves -
we co-create a better world.
Read that again. And again.
And then hire someone, to help them help you help us all.
xo,
Natalie
