Ease up to glow up ✨
Lately I've been thinking a lot about PRESSURE.
Specifically, about how much the dominant (white, patriarchal, capitalist, ableist) culture loves it.
Performance pressure. Time pressure. Social pressure.
Perhaps it's because I've spent a good year addressing chronic headaches -
like, pressure in my actual head -
that I've become far more circumspect about the effects of pressure in our life and work.
As a parent, I see that pressure fuels stress and anxiety in my kids.
As a mentor of new coaches, I see that pressure inhibits curiosity.
As a working person, I’ve watched capitalist pressure push all the heart and talent out of an organization.
As a coach, I see just how much and many pressure(s), internal and external, my extraordinary clients are dealing with everyday.
And as me, myself, I see that it's NOT pressure that helps me be my best.
Rather: it's e a s e .
I don't push and grind my way into my best work.
I relax and trust my way into it.
This means I opt out of deadlines, and the time pressure they create.
I unsubscribe to setting financial goals, and the performance pressure they apply.
I no longer allow pressures to push me,
because I'm so much more powerful when I go where desire pulls me.
More and more and more,
I trust that the most easeful approach -
the way that feels spacious and light and free -
will be most fruitful.
As I look around
at my everyday life / my relationships / my clientele / my bank account,
all signs point to the generative power of ease.
There's plenty more where all this bounty comes from,
and I can help you relax into yours.
Just let me know when you're ready to stop pushing.
love,
Natalie
