Better sorry than safe. ๐ŸŒŸ

Wherever you're worried right now,

whatever you're scared about,

try on this perspective:

You're already living the Worst Case Scenario.

Perhaps you're not submitting a proposal,

afraid that they will not accept you.

But without the proposal, there is nothing to accept.

Here you are, living, without acceptance.

You're already living the worst case scenario.

Perhaps you're not speaking your truth to a friend,

afraid it will ruin the relationship.

But withholding how you really feel IS ruining the relationship.

Here you are, living, with the relationship ruinous.

You're already living the worst case scenario.

Perhaps you're not launching a creative endeavor,

afraid that no one will like it.

But without the endeavor, there's nothing for them to like.

Here you are, living, without anyone liking your thing.

You're already living the worst case scenario.

(pssssst - that is totally how I felt about Mind Witchery, before I launched it.

And it's how I'm feeling now about the planner I'm about to launch).

If you're already living the worst case scenario, then, what is so scary?

I think what you're actually afraid of is disappointment.

You're afraid of reality not meeting our hopes for it.

You're afraid of having an unmet expectation.

You're afraid of expressing, of stepping into, our desires.

But in avoiding disappointment, you're not actually avoiding the worst case scenario.

You're settling for it.

You're perpetuating it.

Hell, you're ensuring it.

And this, I think, is actually the worst case scenario:

the one in which you give up your hopes,

lower your expectations,

deny your desires,

and diminish your power to grow.

In my experience, disappointment definitely sucks.

But it's better than disempowerment.

Which do you choose?

love,

Natalie
