Powerful hungry.
What are you hungry for?
I'm not talking sweet potato pie
(though I'm not NOT-talking sweet potato pie either).
I'm asking because I truly believe that our appetites lead us toward our most empowered evolution.
Appetites are empowering, and that's why (I think)
our oppressive Puritanical, patriarchal, white dominant culture
is hell-bent on making us fear them.
From birth - from the time we are babies, ravenous for food and flesh and love - we learn this sort of thing:
And it takes time and experience to unlearn it.
Meaning: we unlearn it by heeding our desires and seeing what happens.
So again:
What are you hungry for?
alone time / a vacation / a room of your own / cozier bedding / buttery popcorn / a week without email / zooms without video / a day of doing nothing / kinky sex / baked apples / a dramatically different haircut / time by the ocean / lush red lipstick / a penpal / a book to sink fully into
And what if you ran an experiment,
hypothesizing that all of what you are craving
ALL OF IT, EVEN THE CHEESEBURGER
is leading you in the direction of balance, freedom, and far more access to power?
Listen.
The worst that could happen
might be exactly the thing that sets you free.
Love,
Natalie
